Síofra Ní Dhubhghaill is an Irish harpist and music educator based in Dublin. She holds a Bachelor of Music in Performance and Pedagogy from Technological University Dublin, where she studied concert harp with Professor Clíona Doris. During her studies, she was awarded an Erasmus+ scholarship to the Sibelius Academy in Finland, where she studied with Päivi Severeide and performed with several orchestras, including the Sibelius Academy Orchestra, Espoo Polytech Orchestra, Nordic Orchestra Academy and Jyväskylä Sinfonietta.

 

ABOUT

Síofra has performed extensively as both a soloist and orchestral harpist throughout Ireland and abroad. Her performance experience includes appearances with Irish National Opera in productions of Faust, William Tell and Tosca, performances with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra, the Hibernian Orchestra, and the TU Dublin Harp Ensemble, as well as a residency as harpist at The Merrion Hotel in Dublin. She has also performed at the World Harp Congress in Wales, the National Concert Hall, Áras an Uachtaráin, the National Opera House, Royal Hospital Kilmainham and Queen’s University Belfast.

An accomplished musician, Síofra has received numerous awards and competition successes throughout her career. These include first prize in the ESB Feis Ceoil Senior Harp Competition, the Contemporary Irish Music Cup, the DIT Senior Recital Competition, the Arklow Music Festival Senior Strings Competition and the Wicklow Male Voice Choir Bursary Competition. She is also an Associate of the Royal Irish Academy of Music (ARIAM) and a recipient of multiple RIAM Harp Scholarships.

Alongside her performing career, Síofra is a dedicated music educator. She teaches harp and piano in Rathdown School of Music, as well as running a successful private teaching studio. She continues to contribute to the Irish harp community as a committee member of Cairde na Cruite (Friends of the Harp).
